Remote Control Manager is a complete solution for storing all IT devices in one centrally managed database that is accessible by anyone in your technical support help desk. The Remote Control Manager system does not replace existing methods of managing devices but instead uses the existing tools available to open the selected device into the required tool. Your routers and firewalls (devices) would be added to the RCM system and then associated to a template. On launching the device RCM would open the web browser automatically and present the user with the web management page, from here on in RCM has done its job of directing the user to correct program for managing the device. The engineer can now work on the device and close browser as normal once the task is complete.
The program was originally written for use with third party remote control software such as RDP and VNC however it soon became clear that just remote controlling servers or workstations was not enough and the utility needed to be improved to provide access to command prompt and web based toolsl. With this in mind the program was expanded to include the use of a Tools and Dashboards sections where favorites like nslookup, tracert, ping and Web based monitoring, dns lookups and RSS supports feeds are readily available to the engineer.
